Hey guys. I gotta' level with you. I don't have fond feelings of the Sun Belt Conference or my former alma mater--Middle Tennessee State. I know alot of you guys gotta' be itching for that time when Denver can finally get out of the Sun Belt and into a better conference out west.
The reason why I'm posting here under my most neutral alias is to let you guys know that while I am past MTSU and the Sun Belt, I look forward to moving out west to Colorado next month going back to school fulltime. I had so much allegiance for MTSU that I refused to look at the worth of other schools out there because I was sure I would return to MTSU to finish my degree.
Thank goodness I was able to see that there are other places and other schools out there. I recently got accepted on schollie to Adams State College down in Alamosa a while back. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go because it depended on the sale of my house which went through last month.
I chose Adams State College because as an Exercise Science and Sports Admin major I found the outdoor fitness programs out in the the areas of the Rockies to be most intriguing and impressive. You can't climb mountains that high in Tennessee.
I've been researching to get some idea on what I can expect when I get to Colorado and the San Luis Valley. Other than dry and arid and cold temps that can get -40 degrees in the dead winter in altitudes of 7,000+ feet above sea level, that's pretty much all I know.
I think I'd live to see Denver sometime when I'm up there. I'd heard a little about a music festival called Red Rock that is awesome. Alot of the artist that were here in Manchester, TN for Bonnaroo last month will be at Red Rock this time.
I hear it's hard to make a living in the San Luis Valley too. I'll probably need to get a part-time to full-time job on the weekends, and I'm not sure if there's anything like that available in that area.
I'm really excited about moving on with my life and living in Colorado for a while. Any advice you guys might be able to offer pertaining to the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Peace!
